Oh, what a wonderful principle “Prophetic Utterance” is! God wants all of His people to know about prophecy because he wants us prophesying. There have been many mistakes made and a lot of error has happened because of misunderstanding concerning this principle. Because of this many have shied away from and even resisted prophecy. Prophecy is intended to speak a word from God to men. What a privilege to speak for and with God! (II Samuel 23:2, II Peter 1:21). Moses many years ago said, “Enviest thou for my sake? would God that all the LORD’s people were prophets, and that the LORD would put his spirit upon them!” (Numbers 11:29). Paul later writes “ Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.” (I Corinthians 14:1). God wants this ministry active in all of our lives.
