About Course

The course Searching the Scriptures is deemed a course favorite by so many disciples over the years.  “Elementary yet so revelational” is what students walk away from the course experiencing because students are imparted a greater love for God’s Word that they perhaps did not have before.  For one to walk with Jesus and become like Him, one must have a lifetime discipline of reading, studying and searching the Scriptures.  Studying the Scriptures is not something we do for a year or two and then move on, but it is a lifestyle God is looking in His people.  To that end has this course been created and recommended to go through first.

Description

Searching The Scriptures is the first volume in our foundational series.  This study contains over forty lessons seeking to teach you many things.  First, it will teach that the Bible is the key to real deliverance.  It is not necessarily in a prayer or in hands being laid on someone, or even in a time of intense fasting, but by diligent, heartfelt searching of the Scriptures.  Jesus said, “If ye continue in my Word, then are ye my disciples indeed.  And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:31-32).  Secondly, it will teach you the great treasures of wisdom and knowledge, and most importantly, the revelation of God’s way.  Thirdly, it will lay a foundation in your life of the importance God Himself places on the Word, to the end that we would be established and not be ashamed.  David says in Psalms 119:80, “Let my heart be sound in thy statutes that I be not ashamed.”  In II Timothy 2:15, the Bible says, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”  The Bible also admonishes us in I Peter 3:15, “…and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you.”  Lastly, Searching The Scriptures was written to promote in you a hunger and a great desire to read, study, memorize, and ultimately understand the Word of God.  “O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day” (Psalms 119:97).  Let this be the cry of our hearts.

What Will You Learn?

  • To share with you the key to real deliverance. It is not necessarily in a prayer or in hands being laid on someone, or even in a time of intense fasting, but by diligent, heartfelt searching of the Scriptures.  Jesus said, “31If ye continue in my Word, then are ye my disciples indeed.  32And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:31-32).  He also said, “Sanctify them through thy truth, thy Word is truth.” (John 17:17).  David said, “9Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way?  By taking heed thereto according to thy Word…11Thy Word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee…133Order my steps in thy Word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me” (Psalms 119:9, 11, 133).  What are these Scriptures saying?  As we allow the Word of God to fill our hearts and minds, we will be delivered and changed.
  • To share with you the great treasures of wisdom and knowledge, and most importantly, the revelation of God’s way. As we give ourselves to the Scriptures, we begin to know and understand our God in a complete way.  It says in Romans, “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God!  How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out” (Romans 1:33).
  • To lay a foundation in your life of the importance God, Himself, places on the Word, to the end that we would be established and not be ashamed.David says in Psalms 119, “Let my heart be sound in thy statutes that I be not ashamed” (Psalms 119:80).  II Timothy tells us to “study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (II Timothy 2:15).  The Bible also admonishes us, “Be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you…” (I Peter 3:15).
  • To promote in you a hunger and a great desire to read, study, memorize, and speak the Word of God.Let the cry of our hearts be, as David says in Psalms, “O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day” (Psalms 119:97).
