The Call Of The Bride study manual contains over thirty lessons defining this calling to be the bride of Christ. Of all the subjects one could teach or minister on, the principle of the “bride of Christ” is, as far as I am concerned, the highest. Just like the Song of Solomon (which I believe to be a picture of Jesus and His bride) is called the “Song of Songs”, and if this is true, then what other message is more important for these last days. I know that this is a deep subject and requires some maturity and foundation in the Lord and in the Scriptures to even begin to understand it, yet I find that it really can only be understood by a revelation from the Holy Spirit. Only He can open our eyes and heart to such a majestic and wonderful truth. I agree that the highest priority of any minister, teacher, leader, etc is to win people to the Lord, to simply get people saved and filled with the Holy Ghost. But in truth this only prepares us to begin the race. It gets us into heaven, and then we begin the process of getting heaven into our lives. The Scriptures, however, leave no doubt that we are to “grow in grace”, “go on to perfection”, “to be holy as He is holy” and we are to ultimately end up a church “without spot or wrinkle or any such thing”. We are to have “Christ formed in us” and are called to “bear His image”. It is not enough just to prepare people to go to heaven, but someone, somewhere must begin to teach God’s people how to live in the ages to come and how important the process of sanctification is in preparing us for our glorified state. Justification is God’s free eternal gift, but sanctification costs us everything. The church needs to know that they are in a race (Hebrews 12:1, I Corinthians 9:25-28) and that there is a prize to be won, “the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:14). They need to know that this must be attained to (Luke 21:36) and that just being born again does not make you ready to be the bride of Christ (Matthew 25:1-13). Too many Christians, actually the vast majority have no real clue as to what God wants for them, that He actually wants to be their husband and that they should be prepared to be His bride.
As a pastor and teacher of the Word of God for 30 years now, I know my calling is to minister to this bride, wherever in the world she may be. My earnest hope and prayer is that this study manual will help her understand her calling, and what it is and means, what it will cost her, and how to begin to prepare for it, according to the Holy Scriptures. All over the earth today precious men and women of God are hearing this truth and teaching it. As I said, I believe it is the Word of the Lord for these last days. I plead with you to search out the Scriptures found herein, study to show yourself approved unto God, apply your heart to wisdom and to the revelation of this deep, precious, lovely, and holy call. All of heaven is watching and waiting for your response to it. In these last days God is calling out and choosing a people for Himself. Please be one of them. With a true and pure heart with full assurance of faith, in the reality of true Scriptural evidence, and the deep calling of the Spirit of God, to this truth about brideship has this manual been written. I ask you to search this out to truly see if it is so, and upon finding that it is, you will give yourself to Him, and the dealings of God, and the working of the Holy Spirit in your life and to the Scriptures, and to deep, intimate fellowship and worship like never before. If that happens then I believe all heaven will rejoice. But most importantly, you will have prepared yourself for that great moment that is coming, the marriage feast of the Lamb.
May all glory and honor and praise be given to our precious Lord Jesus, and to that great revealer of truth, the Holy Spirit, and may the Father, the great, majestic, mighty, omnipotent one, get what He has longed for, for thousands of years now, a people who simply love Him not for what He can do for them, but simply for who He is, the most wonderful, loving, precious being in the Universe. To that end this was written and to that people who are hidden now all over the earth, hearing this same upward call.
So my brothers and sisters let us begin now to apprehend that for which we were apprehended for. Let us run the race to win the prize, not caring about the cost, but be willing to “buy the truth and sell it not” (Proverbs 23:23), that our vessels will be “filled with oil” and that we obtain that glorious wedding garment (Revelation 19:7-9). May the Lord bless you as you read and study and begin your journey into brideship.
