We believe in eternal salvation. As believers, we are born again of incorruptible seed (I Peter 1:23) when we confess with our mouths and believe in our hearts that Jesus is Lord (Romans 10:9), one who died for our sins and rose again. Many teach you can lose your salvation because “if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth…” (Hebrews 10:26). But having a foundation helps us understand the difference between our soul and spirit, what truly transpires happens when we are born again, and how our heavenly Father deals with the motions of sin still in our soulish man that every single believer willfully yields to as we grow and begin the sanctifying process after salvation. His judgment comes to “consume our adversaries,” not “consume us.” Judgment comes simply to consume the areas of our lives that are falling short. God doesn’t allow us to get away with anything. He’s looking to perfect and make holy a people. The chastisement of the Lord changes us for good, not cuts us off to a burning fiery hell. He’s forever our faithful Father, “for whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth” which by the way simply means “to train or educate” not beat us.
